The UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Management of Conservation Areas (MCA) at Carinthia University of Applied Sci-  ences provides excellent research and inspiring learning experiences for nature conservation in the 21st century. Its in-  terdisciplinary team has become an internationally visible hub for excellence, innovation and new technologies in nature  conservation with a particular focus on the management of conservation areas. Our work is based on an international,  transdisciplinary, holistic and integrated understanding of conservation areas, as advocated and exemplified by  UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, (natural) UNESCO World Heritage sites and UNESCO Geoparks. Coordination Research-Project BioBox - Junior Researcher (m/f/d)  

Job profile and tasks

Brief: Support the management and coordination of the Interreg BioBox project, focusing on research activities and  collaboration with Italian partners. The BioBox project aims to enhance biodiversity in urban and rural areas through  replicable, low-cost measures for private and public users. Your role includes coordinating pilot implementations, mon-  itoring activities, and public awareness campaigns, with a particular focus on technological aspects of biodiversity mon-  itoring.

Tasks: Supporting research and management activities of the BioBox project.  

Your profile

Expertise in biodiversity within urban and rural environments, with a strong understanding of the selected species  groups (birds, mammals, insects) and the application of modern technologies for monitoring.
