Job description
In your new role you will:
- Lead the design, development, and RTL coding of complex digital blocks for automotive microcontroller IPs
- Own microarchitecture design and specification based on system-level requirements
- Perform synthesis, static timing analysis, and power/performance optimization, collaborating closely with the physical design team to achieve design closure
- Work with verification teams to ensure block-level and system-level verification, addressing any issues identified
- Ensure designs comply with ISO 26262 and other automotive safety standards, implementing safety mechanisms as required
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues related to design, timing, or functionality
- Mentor junior engineers, enabling their growth and ensuring adherence to best practices
- Contribute to the development of scalable, reusable IPs to meet platform and project needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, software engineers, and validation teams, to ensure seamless product integration
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree (Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in digital design, with a focus on automotive or safety-critical systems
- Proficiency in RTL coding using Verilog or VHDL
- Strong knowledge of synthesis, STA (static timing analysis), and power/performance trade-offs
- Experience with debug tools and familiarity with simulation/emulation methodologies
- Knowledge of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) and experience implementing safety mechanisms
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks
- Excellent communication skills, with experience collaborating across teams
- Proficiency in English
As an advantage:
- Experience with low-power design techniques and DFT (Design for Testability)
- Familiarity with power management of microcontrollers and system-level design requirements
This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, at least employment group H (https://www.feei.at/leistungen/informations-service/mindestlohne-und-gehalter).
