Within this project the generation and meshing of artificially generated microstructures from experimental data should be enabled by creating a workflow to link three different software programs. To achieve this, Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) and similar 3D data will be utilized and analyzed, using MTEX to extract key microstructural parameters. These parameters will then be used in a KAI simulation model. These descriptors are then input for a microstructure generator to construct the geometry. Finally, the artificially created geometry has to be meshed within COMSOL Multiphysics, requiring JAVA coding for automation.
Key responsibilities in your new role:
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Understand the problem and related data sources through the exchange with experts
- Data Processing: Create a workflow for generation and meshing of artificially created microstructures from experimental data
- Academic Writing: Document results and prepare a Master Thesis
