Researcher for Software Development (m/f/d)
Basic Information:
Musculoskeletal conditions affect over 1.7 billion individuals globally, with a significant portion requiring rehabilitation and hand orthoses. When the functionality of the hand is compromised due to injury, illness or disability, its loss is keenly felt. The project focuses on an automatic process to create customized dynamic hand orthosis via 3D printing.
Your Tasks

Develop software enabling the customization of dynamic hand orthoses, integrated with a parametric design model.

Build and iterate functional prototypes to test and refine the customization workflow.

Design and implement a user-friendly web application, including tailored front-end interfaces for medical pro-fessionals and other user roles.

Develop a server-based back-end architecture that enables communication between apps via APIs.

Create a plug-in for the 3D printer’s firmware to support orthosis printing code sending.

Collaborate with medical professionals to validate the software at various development stages.

Test the software for bugs and vulnerabilities to ensure a stable and secure user experience.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for the developed software.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related subject.
- Programming skills (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python)
- Skills in development of front-end and back-end
- Experience from medical sector (optional)
- Basic knowledge of 3D printing (optional)
- High motivation, independence and teamwork
- German and English language (Level B2, w/s)

Minimum salary: EUR 2.990,13 gross per month (full time, 14 salaries a year), negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
