- Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation.
- Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings.
- Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Conduct detailed analysis including structural, finite element analysis (FEA), thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow dynamics, and manufacturability to properly specify designs.
- Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to characterize and validate design performance.
- Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements.
- Provide key deliverables including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, and design review presentations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research within applied research projects in the area of 3D printing and simulation-driven design
- Carry out and ensure high-quality CAD design and FEM simulations
- 3D-printing and lab equipment (maintenance, troubleshooting, ensuring reliable operation)
- Assist in translating research outcomes into teaching
- Co-supervision of bachelor theses related to ongoing research projects
- Support proposal preparation for public research funding and cooperation with industry partners
- Actively represent the research group at events (internally and externally) and conferences

Qualifikation und Anforderung
- Technische Ausbildung (HTL/FH/TU Maschinenbau) oder vergleichbare Ausbildung
- Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung, min. 2 Jahre Erfahrung in Projekt-/Teamleitung
- Branchenspezifisches technisches Verständnis (Halbleiter-Automation, Wafer Handling)
- Gute Kenntnisse von SEMI Standards, Praxis in 3D-CAD-Programm (evtl. Solid Edge)
- Gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
