Join Infineon's Power and Sensor Systems (PSS) division in Austria, where innovation meets sustainability. As our new Principal Engineer Hardware Reliability you will define and implement quality targets for Modules and ICs based on customer and market requirements, while overseeing the entire product lifecycle to ensure quality criteria are met. It includes developing qualification strategies, managing product qualification, addressing customer needs, and handling product deviations and risk assessments in production. Additionally, the role focuses on deploying new quality tools, training colleagues, and actively participating in strategic meetings with key customers to maintain alignment with quality objectives. In your new job you will:
- Define and implement reliability and quality targets for hardware and power modules in AI application, ensuring alignment with customer and application requirements
- Develop and execute verification as well as reliability qualification strategies and plans tailored to product and technology innovations, balancing cost, time and resources
- Design and implement innovative reliability test methodologies and specifications, analyzing results to assess design risks and product reliability
- Investigate failure mechanisms through statistical data analysis and root-cause investigations to continuously improve product performance
- Collaborate from early concepts to mass production with design, manufacturing and NPI Teams to optimize reliability, quality and manufacturability
- Provide expertise in electrical and mechanical component selection, fabrication processes and assembly techniques to enhance quality
- Present reliability results, risks and recommendations to cross-functional and leadership teams with confidence and clarity.
- Represent Quality Management in discussions related to product deviations, production risks, and corrective actions
- Drive customer satisfaction by advocating for their requirements in problem-solving and quality-related decisions
- Actively engage in strategic discussions with key customers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on reliability expectations and objectives
You are best equipped for those tasks if you have:
- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or comparable
- At least 6+ years of experience in Quality Management in a technical environment and/or Electronic & Semiconductor assembly/Research &Development/Engineering with product and technology development focus
- Fundamental knowledge on JEDEC, IEC, AEC and ISO qualification standards for modules and their applications as a strong plus
- Experience in customer communication and fluent English skills with German language skills as a plus
We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. When staffed in Austria the employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group I (https://www.feei.at/aktuelles/mindestloehne-und-gehaelter-eei/).
